WD AUTOBODY "REVIVING HISTORY"
WD AUTOBODY "REVIVING HISTORY"
This iconic machine, a dominant force from the golden era of Australian touring car racing, suffered a heavy hit at the 2024 Bathurst 1000 Heritage Touring Cars. It underwent a complete rear-end cut and rebuild, restoring it faithfully to its original racing glory while preserving its rich motorsport heritage.
Originally campaigned by the legendary RE-CAR team, this Commodore VC is a true survivor from Australian touring car racing’s iconic Group C era. Driven by renowned racers including Bruce Grice and the late great John Harvey, it competed in the early 1980s against the best at Bathurst and on tracks across the country.
Lovingly restored and returned to historic competition, it continues to thrill crowds today, a rolling tribute to the glory days of Australian touring car battles.
