The Evolution: From Sorrento Panels to WD Autobody and now, WD Restorations
In October 2016, Travis Duck (Panel Fabricator) and Brendan White (Spray Painter) became the proud new owners of Sorrento Panels, a trusted, family-owned workshop with a strong local reputation for quality repairs and collision repairs.
With over 50 years of combined experience, they brought their shared passion and craftsmanship to a wide range of vehicles, from classic and vintage cars to muscle cars, hot rods and prestige vehicles.
The business soon evolved attracting car enthusiasts and collectors from across Victoria, drawn by our reputation for precision, passion, and results.
In 2022, Alan How from Creative Custom Cars approached us after hearing about our growing reputation. The timing couldn’t have been better. In April 2022, we relocated to our current workshop in Dromana, right next door to Creative Custom Cars. This move also marked an important milestone as we rebranded from Sorrento Panels to WD Autobody, reflecting our evolution and expanded focus.
Specialising in everything from custom builds to ground-up restorations, we’ve formed a dynamic collaboration that delivers a complete, convenient, and streamlined turnkey restoration solution covering metalwork, spray painting, and mechanical services all under one roof, designed to make the restoration journey as seamless and satisfying as possible for our customers.
At WD Autobody, the full turnkey restoration is just the beginning. Many of our clients choose us for expert panel fabrication, classic car bodywork, and precision spray painting. Whether they’re running their own build, partnering with other mechanics, or restoring in stages. We collaborate closely with you to deliver specialist craftsmanship that your car deserves, with zero compromise.
In 2025 our journey enters its next chapter with WD Restorations, a dedicated evolution of our craft, focused solely on Reviving History through our restoration projects and the unforgettable moment when each classic is returned to its rightful owner. But Reviving History isn’t limited to full restorations alone, whether it’s repairing a track-damaged racing legend, refreshing a cherished classic, or a complete ground-up rebuild, every project receives the same unwavering dedication and respect.
Today, we continue to restore iconic cars for clients across the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, and regional Victoria, with full-scale restoration projects coming from all over Australia.
