WD AUTOBODY & RESTORATIONS

This was the restoration of pure Ferrari excellence, a story that takes us back to the Sorrento Panels days, when it was just two passionate craftsmen, Travis and Brendan, working on one rare Ferrari and the result? Pure Ferrari perfection.
The late 1960s and early 1970s were a golden era for Ferrari. Following the success of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona and the popular Dino 246, Ferrari sought to continue its tradition of high-performance, luxurious Grand Touring cars. The result was the 365 GTC/4 — a 2+2 GT that combined performance with comfort, featuring power steering, electric windows, and air conditioning as standard.
First unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, the 365 GTC/4 featured a unique Pininfarina design inspired by the Daytona. Sharing the Daytona’s chassis and engine block, the focus of the 365 GTC/4 was on delivering a refined, high-performance driving experience while maintaining Ferrari’s elegant styling. With only 500 units produced during a brief production run from 1971 to 1972, this model remains rare and highly sought after.
This particular 1972 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is a very rare Australian-delivered, factory right-hand-drive example, one of only six delivered new to Australia from the 41 RHD cars produced worldwide. Originally finished in the period-correct Marrone Colorado with a beige interior, it was later repainted Blue and then Green by Sorrento Panels. The car has a known ownership history dating back to the mid-1970s and spent many years in long-term storage at the Chequered Flag Stables in Moorabbin, Melbourne.
Our restoration focused on reviving this iconic GT while respecting its original character and history. From careful paint correction and panel restoration to interior refurbishment, every step was undertaken with precision and passion, ensuring this rare Ferrari 365 GTC/4 is returned to its former elegance, ready to be admired and driven once more by its owner.
