WD Autobody offers car restoration services tailored to your budget and various levels of restoration excellence:

  • Concours: This is the highest level of restoration and is flawless in every detail. Cars restored to this standard are typically show vehicles and are not driven. This level represents the pinnacle of restoration, requiring significant effort and investment.

  • Show: At this level, the vehicle is professionally restored with no major flaws and are show-ready and exhibit high-quality craftsmanship.

  • Street Show: Cars restored to this level may display some minor wear but remain highly presentable.

  •  Daily Driver Restoration
A practical restoration focused on reliability, comfort, and everyday usability. We bring your classic or vintage vehicle back to a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition, without the pressure of show-level perfection. This includes, rust repairs, tidy paintwork, and refreshed interiors that make your car enjoyable to drive and easy to maintain, all while retaining its classic character.

WD Autobody excels in restoring all types of vehicles, from vintage models and classic cars to race cars. We provide a complete range of restoration services, from minor repairs to full restorations. Equipped with specialised tools and equipment, we offer the following services:

  •  Ground-Up Restoration: A full, detailed rebuild starting from the bare frame, restoring every part of the car to its original glory — the most thorough restoration we offer.

  • Full Car Restoration - A complete restoration of your vehicle’s body, engine, interior, and finish, bringing the entire car back to factory finish (original condition)

  • Panel Fabrication - Custom crafting and repairing metal panels to restore or replace damaged sections, ensuring a perfect fit and restoring your car’s original shape and strength.

  • Rust Repairs - Expert removal and treatment of rust damage, restoring affected areas to strong, clean condition to protect your vehicle and preserve its value.

  • Welding (Spot, Mig & Tig) - Precision welding techniques used to repair, rebuild, and reinforce your vehicle’s structure — from fine TIG detailing to strong MIG joins and factory-style spot welds, ensuring safety, strength, and authenticity.

  • Dents and Scratch Repairs -  Restoring panels to their original smooth finish by professionally repairing dents, dings, and surface scratches — leaving your vehicle looking flawless again.

  • Body Repairs -  Comprehensive repair and alignment of damaged body panels and structural components—restoring your vehicle’s form and safety to factory standards.

  • Custom Body & Chassis Modifications - Custom built and structural alterations to your vehicle’s body and chassis from tailored roll cages and suspension tweaks to custom cuts and reinforcements ensuring unique performance, style, and strength.

  • Chassis Alignment -  Precision adjustment of your vehicle’s frame and suspension geometry to factory specifications.

  • Paint Stripping -  Professional removal of old paint and coatings down to bare metal, preparing surfaces for flawless refinishing and ensuring long-lasting results.

  • Paint Rectification -  Expert correction of paint imperfections, sanding, polishing, and blending to achieve a flawless, showroom-quality finish.

  • Custom Paint Work -  Tailor-made paint applications and finishes—whether it’s subtle ghost stripes, a striking pearlescent coat, or a full race car livery, our experienced paint-shop team brings your vision to life with precision and creativity.

  • Full Respray (Depending on condition) -  A complete repaint of your vehicle from top to bottom—restoring its original shine or transforming it with a fresh new colour, using high-quality finishes for a flawless, long-lasting result.

Any car restoration project largely depends on the car's condition, which becomes clear only after the car is fully stripped down to bare metal. We will also need to understand your car restoration preferences—whether you want the car fully disassembled and acid dipped or if you'd prefer to keep the interior as is and focus solely on the exterior.

Providing a precise estimate can be challenging, as all car restoration work is conducted on a time and materials basis. The most unpredictable element of the restoration is the condition of the metalwork, which remains concealed until the paint is removed. We will offer an initial estimate based on our observations before stripping, and adjust the estimate (if necessary) once the metalwork is visible. Any additional issues discovered during the restoration process will result in further updates to the estimate, which we will present for your approval.

For a preliminary cost estimate, please reach out to us to discuss your project in detail.

The completion timeline for your car restoration project is flexible and depends on your preferences. If you have no budget constraints and want the work completed as quickly as possible, we can discuss and schedule the project to meet your urgency. If you have budget limitations, we’ll collaborate with you to develop a plan that fits within your desired timeframe.

For vintage cars, some parts may have a waiting period for replacement or might no longer be available. In such cases, our Fabrication/Panel shop can custom-create the necessary components if needed. Given these factors, it’s not unusual for a restoration to extend beyond a year, and in some cases, it could take 2-5 years.

Several factors can affect the timeline, such as whether your car needs to be sandblasted or stripped for dipping. The process can take a few months depending on the availability of the sandblaster or dipper. Once these initial steps are complete, we can schedule your restoration project to begin, based on our availability.

We specialise exclusively in classic car insurance and prestige car insurance repairs.

If you're at fault, check your insurance policy for a "Choice of Repairer" option. If you're not at fault, you can choose any shop for repairs, but ensure it’s a restoration shop like ours. We have the expertise to restore your car to its original condition before the accident.
